State Representative Jim Jackson (R) represents Addison, Coppell, the Dallas County portion of Carrollton, most of Farmers Branch, and parts of Dallas. He is Chairman of Budget and Oversight (CBO) of the Public Health Committee, a member of the budget writing Appropriations Committee, and the Redistricting Committee.
This year Representative Jackson was named a "Texas Taxpayer Hero" by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility and once again, the Texas Association of Business named him a "Fighter for Free Enterprise." In the 79th Session Jackson received the "Legislative Excellence Award" by the Texas Municipal Police Association, was named one of the "Ten Best of the Texas House" by the Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas and named a "Defender of the American Dream" by Americans for Prosperity.
Prior to his election to the Texas House in 2004, Representative Jackson served as a Dallas County Commissioner and held numerous leadership roles. Representative Jackson is an active member of the Texas Conservative Coalition.
