Dr. Laurie J. Sutor is the Chief Medical Officer of Carter BloodCare, the community not-for-profit blood center serving north-central and east Texas. She is also currently Professor of Pathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Medical Director for UT Southwestern Transplant Services tissue bank.
Dr. Sutor received her M.D. degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and then completed a five year residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Parkland Memorial Hospital and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Her training included specialty training in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking. Dr. Sutor is certified by the American Board of Pathology in both anatomic and clinical pathology as well as Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine. She recently got an MBA from University of Texas at Dallas.
Dr. Sutor is active in professional societies and has special interests in physician training and trying to reconcile the practice of medicine with the interests of the business world.
