Margie Gunther

Margie Gunther

Margie moved to Texas in 1972 from the Chicago area after completing a BA from the University of Colorado and an MA from Northwestern University. While completing post-graduate studies at Texas Christian University and the University of North Texas, she was employed in the Texas public schools as a teacher, speech pathologist, counselor and then, administrator. She has most recently served as the Executive Director of Special Education for the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD from 1999 to retiring in 2009. Currently Margie works part-time for Psychological Software Solutions, an educational software company, where she trains teachers in Dallas ISD as well as other nearby school districts.

Margie has lived in Addison since 2008 when she began volunteering for the Town. Her recent involvement in the community includes:

  • Addison Planning and Zoning Commission 2011-2012
  • Addison Charter Review Commission, 2010
  • Addison Census Committee, 2010
  • Town of Addison Citizens Academy
  • Addison "Addvocate" volunteer

Margie has a daughter, Carrie, who lives in Seattle, WA. Margie's hobbies include golf, gardening and enjoying the Arts.
